If I Stay by Gayle Forman is about Mia Hall a talented Cellist, hopes of pursuing her musical dreams at prestigious Juilliard or follow her heart to be with the love of her life, Adam, a rock singer/guitarist. However, that changes when she is left between life and death.
My vision when redesigning the cover is to emphasize the role nature played in the book, as the accident happens on a slippery road during winter. A scene that trails in mystery as to what her future has in store for Mia. As we see in the cover the snow is overtaking the leaves, this represents her soul leaving her body and whether Mia can overtake the coma she’s in or will her dreams shatter.
